The journey

Christmas in Lapland is experienced among snow-covered forests, Arctic landscapes and peaceful surroundings that create a unique atmosphere. Accommodation is provided in a comfortable property, with half board included.
The itinerary combines adventure and local traditions: you’ll drive a husky sled, meet reindeer and visit a park dedicated to Arctic wildlife. There will also be time to discover the world of Santa Claus and cross the Arctic Circle.
Evenings offer the opportunity to search for the Northern Lights, weather permitting.
A different kind of Christmas experience, combining nature, Nordic culture and comfort.

Day by day itinerary

Arrival in Lapland and transfer to our accommodation, surrounded by Arctic nature and overlooking scenic river rapids. Check-in to double rooms with private bathrooms.
After the welcome dinner, we’ll have the chance to admire the Arctic sky directly from the resort and, weather permitting, catch our first glimpse of the Northern Lights.

After breakfast, we’ll venture into the wild landscapes of Lapland, surrounded by snow-covered forests and peaceful scenery. We’ll follow woodland trails and have the chance to observe iconic northern wildlife, including polar bears, lynxes, wolves, wolverines and Arctic foxes.
In the afternoon, we’ll return to our accommodation. Dinner and an evening together.

The journey continues towards Rovaniemi, where the landscape changes and makes room for the most iconic imagery of Lapland.
Here, Santa Claus Village awaits us, a place where the Arctic Circle can truly be crossed and every detail is designed to make the boundary between reality and imagination disappear.
We will walk among the post office, where letters are sent all over the world, shops, restaurants and installations that make this place unique. And then comes the meeting: Santa Claus himself. A simple but unforgettable moment, made up of a few words, a photo and a letter handed directly to him.
The rest of the village visit is free time: an opportunity to explore, observe and lose ourselves in the details.
In the afternoon, we return to our base.

The day combines two classic Lapland experiences. We’ll start with a husky sled ride through snow-covered forests and Arctic landscapes. Later, we’ll visit a reindeer farm, where we can meet the animals and learn about their connection to local culture.
After dinner, we’ll gather around the fire to hear stories and legends about the Northern Lights.

Breakfast, transfer to the airport, and return flight.

Everything you need to know

All outdoor activities are subject to potential changes based on weather and environmental conditions. In the event of adverse or extreme conditions, we reserve the right to reduce their duration, modify them, or cancel them if necessary to ensure the safety of the group.

Even with a smartphone, you can capture great photos of the Northern Lights, especially with recent models. Here is our recommended setup, from the essentials to the ultimate photography gear:

The Essentials (for everyone):

  • Smartphone or Camera Tripod: Absolutely essential to keep your shot stable and avoid motion blur during night photography.
  • Touchscreen Gloves: Crucial for adjusting your camera or operating your smartphone without exposing your hands to the freezing cold.
  • Extra Batteries / Power Bank: Extreme cold drains battery life significantly faster than usual.

For Smartphone Photographers:

  • A dedicated long-exposure app or your phone’s built-in "Night" / "Pro" mode.

Recommended Settings:

  • High ISO, long exposure time (15–30 seconds), manual focus set to infinity, and flash strictly turned off.

For Camera Photographers (DSLR / Mirrorless):

  • DSLR or Mirrorless Camera with full manual controls.
  • Fast Lens: A wide aperture of f/2.8 or lower is recommended.
  • Wide-Angle Lens: Ideally 14–24mm for full-frame sensors or 10–18mm for APS-C sensors.
  • Remote Shutter Release or Self-Timer: Prevents micro-vibrations when triggering the shot.
  • Headlamp (preferably with a red light mode): Helps you navigate and adjust settings in the dark without disrupting others or ruining night vision.
  • Daypack / Hiking Backpack: Always bring a daypack with enough room for extra layers, water, snacks, and your camera.

  • Sunglasses: Essential for sunny September days when the glare can be strong.

  • Swimwear: Be sure to pack a swimsuit if a sauna session is on your itinerary.

The Northern Lights are an unpredictable natural phenomenon. Because their visibility depends on shifting weather conditions and solar activity, sightings can never be fully guaranteed.

Facing the Arctic winter requires proper clothing to fully enjoy every experience without feeling the cold. Lapland in December and the following months can bring very harsh temperatures, often dropping below -20°C, so dressing in layers is essential.

Layering System (valid for all activities):

  1. Base Layer (breathable thermal underwear):

    • Top and bottom in merino wool or technical fabric (avoid cotton).
  2. Mid Layer (insulating):

    • Sweatshirt, fleece, or wool sweater.
  3. Outer Layer (protective):

    • Waterproof and windproof jacket and trousers.
    • In the coldest months (October–November), an insulated winter jacket is recommended.

Essential Accessories:

  • Warm hat (preferably covering the ears).
  • Gloves (one light pair and a warmer, waterproof pair or mittens).
  • Neck warmer.
  • Wool socks (preferably double layers during colder months).
  • Waterproof trekking boots or winter boots with non-slip soles.

For Northern Lights Viewing:

  • Dress as warmly as possible: waiting outdoors involves standing still for long periods.
  • Hand or foot warmers (if available).
