Terms and Conditions

1. General Terms of Sale

Snap the North's services are provided under the general terms and conditions for the sale of travel services, regulated by Swedish law. By making a booking with us, you agree to these terms.

Bookings and Confirmations

A booking is considered valid only after written confirmation from us (via email or digital message). We accept bookings up to 30 days before departure; last-minute bookings require full payment (100%) immediately.

Payments

Unless otherwise agreed:

  • Deposit: 30% upon confirmation
  • Final payment: due 30 days before the first service is provided
  • Last-minute bookings (< 30 days): 100% payment required immediately

Failure to make payment by the due dates will result in the cancellation of the booking, with no right to a refund of the deposit.

Prices and Changes

The price may be updated up to 15 days before the trip only in the event of changes in transportation costs, taxes, VAT, or local charges. If the increase exceeds 10%, you have the right to withdraw from the booking without penalties.

Changes Requested by You

Any requested changes will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Operational fee: €25 per person. Please communicate any changes at least 30 days before departure.

Name Changes / Substitutions

It is possible to change the name on a booking if:

  • The request is made at least 5 working days before departure
  • The replacement traveler meets all requirements and provides the necessary documentation
  • Local suppliers accept the change
  • Fee: €35

Both you and the replacement traveler are responsible for the final payment.

Changes After Departure

If an essential service cannot be provided, we will offer alternative solutions of equivalent value or refund the difference. In cases of force majeure (extreme weather conditions, road closures, emergencies, etc.), alternatives may not be available and partial or no refunds may be the only possible option.

Your Responsibilities

You are required to:

  • Have valid travel documents during the trip (passport, visas, etc.)
  • Follow the instructions provided by our guides
  • Respect local safety regulations
  • Inform us of any relevant health or physical conditions

You are responsible for any damages caused by your negligent behavior.

Insurance (Highly Recommended)

We strongly recommend purchasing:

  • Travel medical and baggage insurance
  • Travel cancellation insurance

Please make sure your insurance covers outdoor activities, adverse weather conditions, accidents, and early return. Without adequate insurance coverage, all risks remain your responsibility.

Cancellations and Refunds

If You Cancel:

  • Up to 30 days before departure: 30% cancellation fee (deposit is non-refundable)
  • From 29 days before departure onwards: 100% cancellation fee

No refund will be provided in case of:

  • No-show
  • Invalid travel documents during the trip
  • Late arrival
  • Voluntary withdrawal during the trip

If You Cancel Due to Force Majeure (serious illness, severe injury, hospitalization):

A refund may be considered only if:

  • The reason is serious and properly documented (official medical certificate)
  • The documentation is provided within 48 hours of notifying us

In these cases:

  • A 100% refund is not guaranteed
  • We will refund only the amounts that can be recovered from local suppliers
  • Non-refundable costs (such as prepaid accommodation or activities with limited availability) remain your responsibility
  • We will provide details of non-recoverable costs upon request
  • Bank and transaction fees remain your responsibility
  • Refunds will be processed within 60 working days from the confirmation of the recoverable amount

If We Cancel:

In the event of cancellation by us due to unforeseen circumstances or force majeure, refunds are limited to the amounts actually recoverable from suppliers. No additional compensation will be provided.

Complaints

Please report any issues immediately to your guide or directly to us. Formal complaints must be submitted within 7 days of returning from the trip.

Our Liability

We are responsible for the services included in the contract in accordance with Swedish law. We are not responsible for:

  • Activities purchased independently
  • Transportation arrangements made independently
  • Adverse weather conditions
  • Delays, cancellations, or service failures caused by third parties
  • Events beyond our control (force majeure)

Jurisdiction

Any dispute shall fall under the exclusive jurisdiction of the District Court of Haparanda, Sweden.
